Title: Senior Direct Marketing Manager / Direct Marketing Manager
Location:
SF Bay Area (30 minutes south of SF)

A growing, consumer e-commerce site is searching for a Senior Direct Marketing Manager / Direct Marketing Manager (DMM) to join its customer marketing team, lead strategy and execution of direct-mail and related marketing programs aimed at profitably attracting and retaining the site's customers. Reporting to a Director, the DMM will focus on generating value and insights from programs that heavily leverage direct mail and email across the customer lifecycle through data-driven marketing and testing. In this new, key role, the DMM will also lead win-back campaigns, holiday-card and other programs, among other duties. This is a great opportunity to make a big contribution.

Responsibilities:
Develop and manage direct-mail strategy and contact plan that optimizes ROI for customer acquisition and retention
• Responsible for all circulation planning, including plan development, test design and planning, file delivery and execution as well as post-campaign analysis
• Own customer and prospect data capture and analyses, guiding development of models, customer profiles and other analyses that better target prospects and customers through direct mail
• Develop creative briefs and manage creative development for outbound catalog and direct mail; formulate creative testing strategies that continuously optimize response
• Identify, recommend and manage external printers and vendors that deliver best-in-class, high-value, direct-mail programs within budget
• Assure coordination with other marketing functions and programs
• Manage preparation and execution of customer communications from concept to execution, including project plans, briefs, budget and timelines
• Oversee all aspects of the post-transaction customer communications experience, including site experience, email and package inserts
• Manage cross-channel marketing programs (website, direct mail, email) where direct mail is a key component; identify opportunities for using the direct-mail channel to increase customer value across other marketing programs and touchpoints
• Develop and manage reporting and forecasting for direct mail that communicates business impact on a monthly and quarterly basis (weekly/daily reporting within a campaign)
• Work with the Director of CRM to set strategic targets and goals for direct-mail programs

Requirements:
More than seven years of experience in a direct-marketing role, ideally in a consumer retail environment
• Must have experience managing large-scale, direct-mail campaigns (more than 1M pieces)
• Demonstrated success developing and managing high-response, high-return mail programs, from concept to execution and measurement
• Adept at applying best practices in database marketing and direct marketing principles/operational excellence (modeling, profiling, segmentation, data management)
• Superb analytical skills with acumen in targeting, testing and evaluation
• Database agency management (data management, manipulation, delivery)
• Agency management (developing and driving program execution)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, to be applied in leading, managing and influencing through other peopleıs teams
